Why Join CCA

Joining CCA is about more than just the tangible benefits of membership.  CCA has a long history of improving conservation of marine fisheries and angler access to them.  This impact is built upon thousands of members that contribute their time and talent in the CCA community.

ADVOCACY

CCA plays a pivotal role in Louisiana saltwater fisheries policy.  From menhaden, to red snapper management, to regulations, CCA has a long history of working with LDWF and other policy makers to improve conservation and access.

Our effectiveness in shaping policy is directly driven by our membership numbers.  Being able to say that CCA represents the interests of nearly 20,000 voters is a powerful signal to policymakers.

ACTION

CCA runs programs that directly improve Louisiana fisheries.  For example, our REEF Louisiana program has built over 40 artificial reefs across the coast, creating dozens of acres of productive marine habitat.

CCA relies on members to lead a lot of this work, from organizing reef projects, to planting floating islands, to tagging fish.  Being a member gives you opportunities to get directly involved in conservation action.

COMMUNITY

CCA has a strong sense of community.  When you join CCA, you’re joining a local chapter of other people that care about fisheries conservation.  Chapters organize fishing seminars, banquets, and other activities that drive awareness and education.

Local CCA chapters have fun together.  You’re part of a community of like minded people that love to fish.  Chapter banquets and other activities have spawned many friendships and fishing trips.
