CCA Louisiana Board names Caplinger as interim CEO

Longtime State Chairman will serve as acting CEO until permanent replacement is chosen

The Board of Directors of the Coastal Conservation Association of Louisiana has announced that Charlie Caplinger will serve as interim CEO while the search for a full time CEO is conducted. Caplinger, who lives in Mandeville, currently serves as the Chairman of the CCA Louisiana Board of Directors and will continue in that role as well.  He will serve as the interim CEO beginning on March 17 and will remain in that role until the permanent CEO is in place.  Over the past two decades, Caplinger has served as CCA Louisiana Board President and Chairman as well as a CCA National Board Member and Management Committee Member.

CCA Louisiana’s CEO oversees all aspects of the organization, including 30 local chapters, roughly 20,000 members and 200 Board Members from around the state.  The CEO’s responsibilities include the coordination of all advocacy efforts, all fundraising and membership, all habitat programs, all organizational finances and all communications and community outreach.  The CEO also manages the CCA Louisiana staff and headquarters in Baton Rouge.

Longtime Executive Director and CEO David Cresson announced in February that he would be leaving the organization after more than 17 years in the role.  He will take on the role of President and CEO of the Louisiana Chemical Association and the Louisiana Chemical Industry Alliance on March 24. The CCA Louisiana Board will conduct a search for Cresson’s permanent successor.

Anyone interested in being considered for the position of CCA Louisiana Executive Director and CEO should submit a cover letter and resume to HR@joincca.org.  More information on the position search is forthcoming.
